A 50-foot man eating Easter bunny is on the loose and the townsfolk don’t stand a hop in hell. As the bloodthirsty, floppy eared killer leaves a trail of dismembered corpses, the town’s only chance of survival rests with a wannabe actress and a crazy dog catcher. God help them!

A small budget ($1500.000) B-movie without much of a plot or acting ability, but with lots of nudity, blood and body parts, not to mention a 50-foot tall rabbit, that looks like a giant rat and moves like a robot steered by a drunk puppeteer – this didn’t sound like a film I would enjoy, but I did. Why? This movie is so bad, it is actually quite good. A bit like the movies of Ed Woods from 1950’s and 60’s.

As the dope head mayor of a little town is preparing with the police chief for an Easter Parade Day with a difference, that will put the town on the map, a 50-foot rabbit is on a rampage in the local woods dismembering everybody it comes across. I takes a while before the press gets wind of it and at first the slayings are blamed on wild dogs and even a bunch of Amish gone bad, before slightly mad Doug, a member of the town’s animal control unit (there is a whole army of them), cottons on and tries to warn the town. Of course nobody believes him and he gets locked up, until things come to a head during the Easter Day Parade. Will Doug with the help of the pretty aspiring actress he has a crush on, save the day?

The crew around directors and writers The Snygg Brothers seemed to have had a lot of fun making this movie and the special effects are so bad, that you can’t take them too seriously. I recommend to invite a few like minded friends and get a few drinks in before settling down to watch this daft horror spoof.

The Beaster Bunny will be available on DVD, on demand and to download on 3 April 2017.
