Neue London is a contemporary womenswear label aimed at the modern professional woman. Founded and based in London, designer Alice Tibble’s fascination with colour and print leads her to take influences from nature to inform shape and pattern. Original prints are mixed with modern, effortless shapes to create garments that are at the same time, both individual and wearable. Neue believes in a conscious approach to design, working with local manufacturers who share the same values of quality and craftsmanship.
Alice graduated from the London College of Fashion with a first class honours degree in fashion design. After graduating she worked at fashion houses in New York for over 5 years, including gaining invaluable experience working for designers Catherine Malandrino and Calvin Klein. After returning to London Alice worked at womenswear label Reiss, where she gained essential knowledge of the affordable luxury market. Combining her luxury background with commercial expertise, Alice established her own label Neue in early 2015 blending the commerce of New York with the creative flair she found in London.
The SS16 collection is inspired by the floral beauty of an English country garden. The exquisite prints used throughout are a celebration of flowers in all their glory. Oversized blooms bordering on abstract, floral repeats, bold placement and ditzy petals are exuberantly mixed together like an overgrown garden. Colours are softened and muted as if caught by the morning light, giving the clothes and inherent feeling of warmth and nostalgia.
In contrast to the prints, shapes are kept simple and functional. Shift styles and relaxed tailoring allow for maximum comfort, minimum effort. Natural fabrics such as silk, cotton and linen are a firm basis to a collection rooted in nature. The collection includes a range of versatile separates from effortlessly stylish tops, dresses, kimono jackets and gently tailored skirts and trousers.
