We found another great venue for you to while away those long balmy summer nights: a canal side bar with great food, great drinks and great music.
Hackney Wick has long been one of my favourite places in London. Restaurants, breweries and bars, galleries and street art and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on the other side of the River Lee Navigation canal make it one of London’s top spots for me.
And now the great people of Number 90 Bar in Hackney Wick, which is already a pretty cool place in its own right, have transformed their canal side terrace into a Mexican pop-up venue: ‘La Terraza’, a great spot to enjoy excellent frozen Margaritas and Mexican street food while watching the boats float by and listening to DJs and live music.
Come along on Wednesdays for Open Air Cinema Nights, Thursdays to listen to what Hackney’s coolest DJs have to offer, Fridays there are local bands providing the music and Sundays it becomes London’s finest promoters show case.
‘What about Saturdays?’ I hear you ask. Saturdays are my absolute favourite day: Bottomless Frozen Margaritas for £20 Day!
The Strawberry and the Passion Fruit Margaritas we tried at the press launch evening party were excellent, and we also sipped a few of the tequilas from El Jimador, Patron and Herradura.
Manager Tim and his team at Number 90 made us very welcome and I am sure they’ll look after you just as well.
To visit La Terraza you do have to book in advance. Email laterraza@number90bar.co.uk to secure your place for a great night out.
And if you are worried about how to get there, it is really, really easy. Less than 5 minutes walk from Hackney Wick London Overground Station, which means about 7 minutes from Stratford and just 15 minutes from Highbury & Islington stations.
