W London – Leicester Square launches in-room Mega Bar

Say goodbye to the generic mini bar with W LondonLeicester Square’s Mega Bar, a luxurious in-room bar service complete with personal mixologist, sound system and disco ball; available exclusively to suite guests for the ultimate in-room experience.

Last month we went along to the unveiling of the super-sized mobile cocktail bar in one of W London – Leicester Square’s super cool suites. Overlooking Leicester Square, we could pretend for a few hours to live the rock’n’roll life style with a live DJ, delicious canapés and exciting cocktails from the Mega Bar.

Custom designed for W London, the Mega Bar’s looks, from the outside, like a giant music freight case, but when you open it, it reveals an luxury bar, with an onyx worktop, deluxe leather panelling and a handcrafted gold-hammered sink. In true W London style, the Mega Bar features, of course, a disco ball and in-built UE Mega Boom speakers, to help get the party started.

Measuring 2.4m x 1.6m, the imposing Mega Bar can be wheeled into suites offering guests a unique cocktail experience they’ll never forget whether they are seeking the ultimate pre-party ahead of a night out on the town or planning an indulgent night in, W London has got it covered with the Mega Bar. Much more than just a drinks trolley, the bar also offers the services of a pair of W London’s mixologists.

The Mega Bar experience is complimentary for any guests booking the Screening, WOW and E-WOW suites, but requires 48 hours notice. This includes one cocktail per person and per stay from a dedicated cocktail menu. An in-room DJ will be available at an additional cost and there is also a bespoke E-WOW Suite Party Package available.

The Mega Bar cocktail menu offers the ultimate in-room cocktail experience to create ‘WOW’ moments for suite guests. Guests can take their pick from an array of bespoke cocktails that are served with a ‘Mega’ twist (involving balloons, confetti, candyfloss, sunglasses and even Bliss in-room spa bath sets) and created right there, in their suite,  from tropical Here Comes The Sun, for pineapple and ginger lovers, to fruity fusion Cool Britannia, made with very English gin, apple, elderflower and cucumber flavours. Or try the wonderful Golden Sunrise, a twist on the classic Tequila Sunrise, with tequila, Aperol, passion fruit puree, grapefruit juice and gold leaf garnish.

The launch of the Mega Bar follows the hugely successful Walk Out Wardrobe offering, the revolutionary in-hotel designer-wardrobe in partnership with Girl Meets Dress; as well as The Vinyl Collection, the first-ever vinyl room service curated in partnership with DJ’s Annie Mac and Lauren Laverne. These unique services showcase W London’s evolving commitment and passion to create new and next experiences for guests.

Martijn Mulder, W London’s General Manager, said: W London prides itself on being an industry disruptor in the luxury hotel market, pushing boundaries with its forward-thinking and innovative in-room services. The Mega Bar is a reflection of W London’s commitment in offering new and next experiences, to ensure guests’ stays are truly memorable.”

By the way, don’t worry, there are still a mini bars in the suits, which you can raid in the middle of the night, once the Mega Bar has left.
