Kolchagov Barba ‘Borderless’ Spring/Summer 18 – LFW

Kolchagov Barba draws its inspiration this Spring Summer season from flying birds – by the works of British painter – Jeremy Houghton. For Kolchagov Barba, art and fashion have no boundaries, just as birds move across skies with no borders or limits.

The inspiration of the paintings have become intricate prints. The canvas turned to dresses and the dresses to moving art. Here there are no borders, just freedom and expression.

Abstract birds in these paintings fly freely, giving them a beauty and fluidity between the clouds. This then became the main elements of the collection.

Named Borderless, Kolchagov Barba wishes to tribute this freedom and fluidity; where innocence and lust, beauty and romance and love and freedom are all free to fly together.

For Kolchagov Barba, Fashion is Art and art is for everybody to represent themselves and be free. No political, ethical or social limits exist.

Through the use of delicate lace, feathers, floaty dresses and prints, the Borderless collection wants to embrace the freedom of those to be their own identity.

Bold, feminine cuts against pastel sky blue and warm sunset hues dominated the collection, as did strong metallic pieces that flowed as though they were floating on the clouds. With this air of elegance and femininity, the collection allows each woman to feel beauty and freedom, to be her own identity.
