The goliath bottle which is the only 9 litre bottle of gin in the world, has been hand painted and signed by the artist Laura Barrett and towers above the brands standard 70 cl bottle released last year. The bottle will be sold for an eye opening £5,000 and you won’t find a larger bottle of gin commercially available. This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of gin history or throw one hell of a party!
The Silent Pool design draws inspiration from the locality, the gin production and the legendary Silent Pool. The aquagreen bottle colour is a reflection of the pool, the copper decoration is inspired by the colour of the stills, and the illustration not only features some of the 24 botanicals used in the recipe, but also incorporates elements of the legend of the Silent Pool. The aquagreen stopper colour is a perfect match for the bottle colour, and the overall effect conjures up the historic location of Silent Pool.
The design of the bottles comes from artist Laura Barrett who’s illustrations specialise in creating intricate and decorative silhouettes and monochrome patterns. With an emphasis on storytelling and an attention to detail, Laura’s illustrations are inspired by the darker side of folk and fairy tales. The design of the bottle came from Laura’s work with design agency SeymourPowell.
Legend has it that, back in the 13th Century, a beautiful young woman was bathing by the pool when a man on horseback approached. The stranger, overcome by her beauty caused her to swim deeper into the lake, where she drowned. The horse rider was said to be non other than evil Prince John, brother of King Richard, and the drowned maiden is said to haunt the lake at midnight… Can you spot the legendary characters within the patterned design?
Silent Pool is a classic gin at heart, full-bodied and fresh, with depth, clarity, and above all else delicous. Produced with a unique blend of 24 botanicals, the liquid is rich and clean juniper-driven with floral layers of lavender and chamomile. Fresh notes of citrus and kafir lime are grounded with the subtle sweetness of local honey, creating a well-balanced gin that is both traditional and refreshingly individual.

It took months of research and recipe development to be able to fine-tune this unique method. As a result of all of this work, Silent Pool are now able to create a gin and express flavour in a way no one has done before.
