We have been looking forward to the new incarnation of The House of Peroni for this summer and now it is almost upon us. Every year it manages to reinvent itself and add something completely unique, yet it is still the old House of Peroni at heart: Italian art and fashion, food and – most definitely – drink. This time round it is popping up at Proud East, right on the Regent’s Canal and only a few minutes from Haggerston station. I am particularly looking forward to the floating Negroni bar, but I could also see me going on a pasta making course – it sounds like great fun!
To whet your appetite and to give you plenty of time to plan ahead, here’s what the nice people of Peroni have to say:
THE HOUSE OF PERONI CELEBRATES THE LOVE OF ITALY IN EAST LONDON THIS SUMMER
The House of Peroni is making a triumphant return to the capital this summer with a six week long Residency at Proud East in Haggerston, East London. Entitled ‘Amare l’Italia’ – meaning ‘For the love of Italy’ – The House of Peroni Residency will welcome guests through its doors from Thursday 19th May – Friday 1st July.
Collaborating with a number of hugely innovative and influential Italian talent to create the experience this year, the Residency will be an immersive journey for consumers to discover how some of Italy’s most successful and creative ambassadors are inspired by their love for their home country so much.
The Residency Master of Taste will be the critically acclaimed Francesco Mazzei, chef patron at newly refurbished Sartoria in Mayfair (and previously at L’Anima). Francesco is inspired by Southern Italian cooking – as described in his latest cookbook ‘Mezzogiorno’ – and celebrates the abundance of his homeland’s rich ingredients as well as his own memories of growing up in Calabria.
Working alongside him as the Master of Mixology will be award winning Simone Caporale. Formerly assistant head bartender at The Artesian at The Langham Hotel, Caporale will be bringing his unique vision and innovative flair to the drinks menu, creating an eclectic range of delicious Peroni Nastro Azzurro infused drinks to enjoy whilst relaxing with friends in the summer sunshine.
A bespoke series of events including mixology classes, Italian culinary masterclasses and private dining experiences will be announced on 1st April with tickets going on sale from 18th April via The House of Peroni website.
