The Spirit Show

I know you don’t want to hear the ‘C’ word just yet, but if you work in the hospitality industry you start planning the next Christmas straight after Christmas is over.

This week for example sees a showcasing taster event for the inaugural Spirit Show – billed as “the ultimate tasting event” which will be held at London’s Business Design Centre in Islington on December 9-10 – the peak spirit buying period of the year. Organisers expect 10,000 visitors.

(you might want to make a note in your diary now).

Show Director Geraldine Reeve says, “In 2015 more than £200m was spent in the UK on spirits in the first two weeks of December. The best way to develop a relationship between product and customers is face to face contact and The Spirit Show provides a unique opportunity to do just that.”

The UK’s first consumer show for the premium spirits market, The Spirit Show, will concentrate on Whiskey, Gin, Vodka and Rum, but other spirit categories, champagnes, wines and fine food will also feature and will allow premium brands a perfectly timed opportunity to get up close and very personal with their potential customers. Tastings and expert discussions will be a huge part of the event, showcased in a pop up with music, entertainment and destination surprises.

Organisers expect to attract couples and groups of friends who really want to get into the Christmas “Spirit”.

A showcasing “taster” event will be staged at the Design Centre, Islington on Thursday May 19 from 6.00pm – 8.30pm for potential exhibitors, sponsors, partners and the media.
