German Gymnasium Winter Terrace

If you are looking for the best Glühwein (mulled wine) in London, the German Gymnasium’s offering is certainly up there with best, if not the best. We went along to the launch of their Winter Terrace menu last week and got to try their Mulled Convair 340, made to their Executive Chef’s secret recipe. It’s what we would call ‘süffig’, which means extremely drinkable!

The German Gymnasium in Kings Cross has partnered with Lufthansa this year to transform their heated outside terrace into a German winter market with twinkling lights & a dusting of snow and faux fur & cosy blankets to keep you warm. From oven roasted chestnuts to fried camembert with lingonberry compote, flammekuchen (both original, with bacon and onions, and vegetarian, with feta cheese and green peppers) to all-time favourites currywurst and hot dogs, this is a lovely place to while the time away while waiting for your train or for a pre- or post theatre bite. There is also a special air-travel themed cocktail list, but remember to try the mulled wine!

The Winter Terrace is open until the end of February 2017 and there is a chance of winning a flight to Munich with Lufthansa.
