North Greenwich has its own pop-up Christmas market and event space until December 22nd. Just outside the tube station and mere metres away from the O2 Arena, a Peninsula Christmas offers much more than mulled wine and hot sausages and is open daily from noon till late. And if you think “all the way to Greenwich?”, it only took us 20 minutes on the Jubilee Line from Green Park.
The events include poetry from the Roundhouse Young Poets and a sea shanty Christmas choir, a Theatre Bugs panto, a Christmas singing workshop, The ‘Idler Day of Merriment’ music and much, much more. Excellent food is provided by street food trucks and include hog roast, stone baked pizza and reindeer burgers (yes, really!). There is a designer-maker Christmas market, an enchanted forest, a tepee snug bar with open fire pits and a tasting menu at Craft London.
And if you go, don’t forget to pop into the Now Gallery. Fashion designer Molly Goodard’s exhibition What I like is on until February 19, 2017 and invites you to become part of the project by asking you to pick up needle and thread and work on one of the seven oversized tulle dresses hanging from the ceiling.
