Ritorno Campari Winter Terrace

Ritorno, the elegant Italian restaurant on Chelsea’s King’s Road has teamed up with iconic Italian drinks brand Campari this year, to transform its outdoor terrace into an Alpine wonderland until the end of February 2018.

The heated terrace, designed by Toby Roberts at TBR Floral Design Ltd., is the perfect spot to people-watch whilst sipping one of the specially created cocktails. There is even a cosy log cabin with sheepskin blankets and cushions to keep you warm and cosy. Elsewhere glittering willow branches give the terrace a glittery, wintery feeling.

We went along to the official opening earlier this month and were spoilt by the restaurant with freshly roasted chestnuts, delicious canapés from the kitchen (we especially loved the charcoal pizza bites with the Camembert fondant), and of course the four cocktails, specially created by Ritorno’s head barman Simone Francini and Campari:

  • Bitter Bells – a refreshing twist on Campari & Soda using Campari Bitter, vanilla syrup, orange juice and hibiscus soda water
  • T’is the Aperol – a sharing cocktail for two combining Aperol, Maker’s Mark bourbon and home-made pineapple and green tea syrup
  • Ritorno Off The Blazer – this hot cocktail contains Campari Biitter, Grand marnier, Evangelista, ratafia, saffron honey, star anise and cinnamon
  • Ritorno Brulé – my favourite – a warming take on Italian mulled wine with Aperol, Essential Persichetti liqueur, vanilla syrup and a red wine reduction mixed with herbs, spices and dried fruit.

Or have a Negroni or an Aperol Spritz, both excellent après ski drinks.
