AADNEVIK: Anna Karenina – LFW AW19

The AW19 collection by Hila and Kristian Aadnevik was inspired by the novel “Anna Karenina” by Leo Tolstoy. Showcasing their collection at the stunning Royal Horsegaurds on Febuary 17th 2019. The story behind the collection is about love, desire, faith, betrayal and passion. A love affair torn between the breathtaking countryside, and the excitement and vapidity of urban life.

Leo Tolstoy’s story is evident throughout the exquisite detailing seen within the collection; french lace, beaded patterns and hand embroidered snow flakes derive from the tsarist high society of St. Petersburg and Moscow.  This is juxtaposed with the natural elements of leather, sheepskin and soft silks which truly bring the countryside to life. Elements throughout the collection of light and dark, the layering of tulle and lace, sparkles reminiscent of the fields and forests, bring this romantic contrasting love affair to life.
