This year saw the 25th anniversary of award-winning film ‘The Commitments’, directed by acclaimed director Alan Parker and featuring a motley crew of musicians from the the rough streets of working class Dublin who are gathered by wannabe band manager Jimmy Rabbitte to form the greatest Irish Soul band the world has ever seen.
London-Olios was invited to the anniversary party at London’s Borderline last month and we were promised an evening to remember – and it was. Members of the original band and from the touring stage show rocked the stage for 1 1/2 hours, playing hit after hit from the Original Sound Track. The audience clearly enjoyed the show, singing and dancing along to, among others, ‘Mustang Sally’, ‘The Dark End of the Street’, ‘Mr.Pitiful’, ‘I Can’t Stand the Rain’ and ‘In the Midnight Hour’. Drinks flew freely and the pies, quiches and Scotch eggs were top notch.
To give you an idea of the great evening we had, have a look at the photos and the video below.
